Shona, a native of Grand Rapids, attended Grand Valley State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. Her desire to serve her community led her to the Physician Assistant profession and she earned a Master of Science degree from Central Michigan University in 2006. In the same year, she became certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the State of Michigan to practice medicine under the supervision of a physician.
Shona joined Great Lakes Cardiology in 2007. She sees patients in the hospital and the office, supervises stress tests and co-administers the practice's anticoagulation clinic. Shona is a certified Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) provider. She is a fellow member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA).
